GAMESCOM 2014: SONY TRADEMARKS 'A MILLION WAYS TO DIE'
May possibly be linked to a recently teased horror title.
BY MIKE MAHARDY
Sony Computer Entertainment America has trademarked "A Million Ways to Die," suggesting the company may be working on a new IP.
The trademark, which surfaced on a Neogaf forum, was filed Aug. 6, and labels the property as "Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices."
Although there is no other information known about the trademark, it may be linked to a teaser Sony released today for the upcoming Gamescom show. The trailer is mysterious, and Sony claims the title will "reinvent horror." Because of the fact that the trademark was filed recently, and Sony is teasing a new horror title, it's possible the two may be linked.
Sony's Gamescom briefing is schedule for tomorrow, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. PDT. It's likely the mystery behind the teaser and trademark will be unveiled then, so stay tuned to IGN's Gamescom hub.
