MADDEN NFL 15 DEMO EXCLUSIVE TO EA EARLY ACCESS ON XBOX ONE
For the first time in almost 10 years.
BY MIKE MAHARDY
There will be no public demo for Madden NFL 15 before its Aug. 26 release, only early access for Xbox One owners subscribing to EA Access, an EA spokesperson told IGN.
“The difficult decision not to do a demo for Madden was strictly a result of the team’s commitment to deliver the highest quality game possible,” EA said. “We chose to put 100% of our development resources toward the full game.”
EA has traditionally released demos for each Madden title two weeks prior to the game’s release. Now, only Xbox One players will be able to try the game out before release, and even they need to be subscribing to EA Access, which went live publicly today. The service costs $5 / £4 a month ($30 per year) and provides access to games such as Battlefield 4, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and FIFA 14.
Sony passed on EA Access, as the company felt the service doesn't offer "good value." But those who subscribe to it will have early access to upcoming titles like NHL 15, NBA Live 15, FIFA 15 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. After the news that Madden NFL 15 won't have a public demo for all platforms, this may point to a similar pattern for EA's other upcoming titles.
