Warning: !!!VERY GRAPHIC!!!
Our law enforcement officials are there to serve and protect us, but are there times they go overboard? Is a “shoot first ask questions later” policy acceptable?
There are only a few moments in this video where I believe too much force was used. In most instances, it seems like the officer had already put themselves in harms way for an extended period of time before they took any action. In a couple of the instances, it seemed like they fired a whole clip when they only needed to fire one or two shots.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with operating firearms, it is very difficult to gauge if the suspect will be subdued by one or two shots. Everything becomes situational. How is the officer suppose to know that the suspect is actually down or if it is just an act? Can’t the suspect, after falling, pull out a second weapon and fire on the officers?
If you fast forward to the 10 minute mark, you can clearly see what happens when an individual pulls a surprise on an officer who wasn’t preparing for the worst.
You can watch this video and assess for yourself how far is too far when it comes to using force. My take is that these officers use their best judgement when handling these situations.
