Hennessey’s Venom F5 is an American Supercar that is competing for the record books of top speed from a production vehicle. The current champion is another one of Hennessey’s production vehicles from earlier this year, hitting a record 270.49 mph on Nasa’s Kennedy Space Center runway.
Prior to these records, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport at 268 mph was hailed as the fastest production vehicle.

Below is a clip of a Venom accelerating from 0 to roughly 230 mph:

The Venom F5, set for 2016, is looking to hit top speeds of 290 mph. For those of you familiar with the 400 mile drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles, a drive that takes roughly 6 hours according to Google Maps, this sexy beast can take you there in only 1 hour and 25 minutes (at 3 AM in the morning with no police around). Your chances of survival would be slim at those speeds, but, if you made it, you would possibly hold the unofficial record for fastest driving time from SF to LA.
The current record holder for that drive accord to Yelp’s super accurate review page is:

Rob “Eat Like You Mean It” A. says:
3 and a half on a motorcycle sounds about right if you speed.  You’d be able to avoid any possible slow downs in traffic.  But then it depends on what you mean by “speed”.  And you’re gonna have to stop for gas.
With that being said, it is one of the most aesthetically pleasing vehicles to look at and definitely a steal at $1.25 million. If you have that much cash sitting around in your home, I’d recommend watching Hennessey‘s video on why you need to purchase this vehicle NOW NOW NOW!
